A place of coal, a community of people
Emalahleni Local Municipality was established in December 2000 after the first democratic local government elections, formed by merging three Transitional Local Councils — Dordrecht, Indwe and Lady Frere (Cacadu).
Situated in the north-east of the Eastern Cape under the Chris Hani District, the municipality is committed to inclusive, accountable service delivery for all its residents.
